ACTA - Bruno Martins

He was born in Setúbal in 1984 and graduated in Theatre Studies in the University of Évora. He premiered in theatre in the year 2005 with the play Poder by Nick Dear with the direction of Joaquim Benite, followed by the play O Casamento da Condessa by Júlio Dinis, with the direction of Vitor Gonçalves; Os Generosos by Abdelkader Alloula, with the direction of Luís Varela; A Charrua e as Estrelas by Sean O’Casey, with the direction of Bernard Sobel; Que Farei com este Livro? by José Saramago, with the direction of Joaquim Benite.
He joined ACTA in 2009, premiering in Dom Quixote adapted from Cervantes and with stage direction of Andrej Kowalski, followed by Auto da India by Gil Vicente with the direction of Luís Vicente; George Dandin by Molière with stage direction of Luís Vicente; Canto Nono adapted from Camões with stage direction by Luís Vicente; A Cova dos Ladrões by Luís Campião with stage direction by Paulo Moreira; Ensaio Aberto with stage direction by José Lourenço; Um Homem Singular with stage direction by Luís Vicente; O Primeiro by Israel Horowitz and stage direction by Elisabete Martins. He also worked as director’s assistant in Nada do Outro Mundo by Guy Foissy, stage direction by Paulo Matos, Bullying by Glória Fernandes, Luís de A. Miranda and Paulo Moreira, with stage direction by Paulo Moreira, and as co-director’s assistant in Blue Room with supervision by Fernanda Lapa. He worked as an actor in the project Teatro em Casa of Valentim de Carvalho Productions for the national television, RTP1. He is co-author and actor in the play Mais um Shot?!, staged by Elisabete Martins, for schools, with the theme of alcohol. Academically, he worked with several creators such as José Alberto Ferreira, Luís Varela, Tiago Faria, Yuri Progrebnichko, Regina Groeger, Rotozaza, Hugo Cristovão, João Mota, Fernanda Lapa and Maria do Céu Guerra.
